Take a trip back in time, to a place where everything slows down. A place where the TV becomes secondary to the stunning view, and the walks take you to places of ancient wonders. Longlands, has been welcoming visitors for over 1000 years, and now is open to all those wishing to experience the picturesque lifestyle of a Dartmoor Village, including a friendly pub just a short walk away.
We have options suiting all types of getaways, from the quaint Dairy (the perfect way to reconnect with your other half) to the stunning Longhouse, previous home of famous artists and designers (and with a fully fenced private garden). You could even rent all three cottages together to celebrate an upcoming wedding, hen party or family reunion.
Whatever reason Dartmoor is calling you, your family and your dogs, Longlands can be here to make your stay more memorable.
OUR COTTAGES
Three of the cottages are in one old stone building, and were converted from the original barn, dairy and hay loft, later used as a potters cottage, workshop and kilns. There is a shared outside area with outdoor seating and BBQ. The fourth one is away from the others and is a detached long house, formerly the home of the famous shoe maker, Oliver Sweeney. All have wi-fi and smart TV's, (including in every bedroom).

Kitchen
Stocked with all the kitchen essentials (pots, pans, plates, ovens, toaster) so you can self-cater if you would like.
Outdoor Dining
The cottages have a communal outdoor dining space and patio, and with prior notice each cottage can book the vegetable garden with a large dining table and BBQ.
The Long House has its own private garden and patio.
Open Plan Living Areas
All the cottages have open plan living areas with sofa, dining table and kitchen.
Free Wifi
Fast, and good Wifi, as well as smart TV's in each bedroom can keep everyone entertained.
Household essentials
All bedrooms come with linens, towels, and bedding. The cottages are also stocked with cleaning essentials.
Washer/Dryer
Each unit has its own Washer/Dryer so you can pack light.
Customize your stay
Family Essentials
We have cribs, baby gates, high chairs, and other children essentials available. Just let us know what you need before you arrive.
Pet Essentials
We can add dog bowls, towels, blankets and treats to your cottage. Just let us know what you need before you arrive.
Private Chef
We have a spectacular private chef who can cook anything from Italian to Thai. He will shop, prepare and clean up, giving you a night off and a memorable night in.

Ancient Walks
From mystical oak forests to dramatic gorges Dartmoor is famous for its varied and spectacular terrain. Located just inside the park Longlands is the perfect based for exploring.
Historic Sites
From Longlands itself (listed in the Doomsday Book), to the stone circles, and sacred Tors there is always a part of our ancient past to learn about.
Picturesque Villages
Devon is famous for its thatched villages, perfect for walking towns, and endless cream teas.
Leisure Activities
Longlands is set between many amazing golf courses, including Bovey Castle and the family friendly Bovey Golf Course (they even have football golf). We can also recommend places to go horse riding, fly kites, or have a swim (both wild swimming and heated pools).
Locally Sourced Food
Many of the delights you can taste Devon have also been grown locally! There are great pick-own-farms, as well as restaurants ranging form our casual village pup, to high end dining.
The Beach
There are welcoming beaches all within east reach of Longlands. Nothing says summer holidays like a fish and chip lunch on the coast.
